A new medical foundation has promised to search for the cure of asbestos and benzene related cancers. Joining the search is the Asbestos Workers Union , a committee that is deeply involved with the diseases.

PACHLAB announced that Terry Lynch is now a member of its board of directors. The non-profit medical research foundation is devoted to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases resulting from exposure to asbestos and benzene through independent research, collaboration and education. Lynch is the Vice President of a Union for workers affected by asbestos, and comes from a long line of insulators which work with the hazardous material. He has seen first hand what exposure and unsafe handling methods can do when it comes to asbestos.

Asbestos cancer has been acknowledged for decades, but the lack of teamwork between scientists, doctors, workers, insurers and companies hold back any effort made to reduce the number of people affected. Research from Lynch, being conducted at UCLA will be going forward in hopes to find a cure. The bench work studies will be conducted in house, either alone or in conjunction with other investigations.
